At the start of this year I set myself a personal goal to obtain 5 prestigious national Gold awards in photography, awarded by the Guild of Photographers and the Society of Wedding Portrait Photographers. The reason for doing this is to push myself in the pursuit of excellence and to develop my skills higher and higher by competing with peers and colleagues at a national level. I want to be able to demonstrate that not only am I highly qualified but that I can prove that I know how to apply the theory in practice so that you know I am a photographer who can be trusted to deliver the very best of results. It’s only 4 months into the year and I’m absolutely delighted to announce I have already achieved my aims!
You can see my winning photographs below and I hope you like them as much as the photography professionals who judged them did. The awards are three very different photographs all requiring different specialised techniques. The Gold Awards are for a fine art close up of a flower that I set up in my studio and for a photograph of awave that was taken whilst on holiday in Boa Vista. Along with the Gold Award is also a Bronze Award for a pet portrait of Milo who is an absolute giant of a dog – but as soft as they come and a complete pleasure! The wave picture also won “Best Picture” in an open category of photograph which really pleased me not least because when I woke up on holiday to see these fanatic waves hitting the beach and washing most of it away, I went with camera in hand in search of just this picture - and more than a couple of times I got uncomfortably close to being absolutely drenched for my efforts!
If I can help you in anyway please get in contact and we can have a chat. Clive
